Dana Avant Promotional Flyer for "Bring Back Tomorrow's Yesterday's"

This is a must read.
This compelling saga is the story of my life that will touch your heart
and soul…
A Memoir of a Blind Child’s Struggles to Overcome Extraordinary Life
Challenges
“Bring Back Tomorrow’s Yesterdays”
I was abandoned by my Mother at age 2 ~ she left me with my paternal grandmother
who was abusive and neglectful.
Although I am legally - and virtually - blind, I did, at that time,
retain some partial vision. But I
wasn’t allowed to admit I couldn’t see and was thus forced to play a game of
“pretend” in order to survive in this family.
My environment as a child was defined by mice, roaches and squalor but this was
nothing compared to the absence of a loving, nurturing family.
Food, which was wretched, was cooked in dirty pots and dishes were not
cleaned. I would steal my uncle’s
change from his coat pocket to buy comfort food and I was so unhappy I cried
every day. I was 9 years
old.
I lived a child’s worst nightmare, like a waif out of a Dickens novel until I was
rescued, at age 10, by my stepmother, who changed my
life.
